Geolocation: A New Era of Transparency at SBEE

LIBER Technologies Ltd signs a contract with P2AE to geolocate the entire SBEE electricity network in Benin.

In a major development for Benin’s energy sector, LIBER Technologies Ltd. recently signed a contract with the Energy Access Improvement Project (P2AE) for the geolocation of the entire electricity network of the Société Béninoise d’Énergie Electrique (SBEE). This project, funded by the World Bank, aims to improve the management and maintenance of the country’s electricity grid.
Geolocation of the electricity grid is a crucial step in optimizing electricity distribution, reducing losses, and improving energy access for the population. Using advanced technologies, LIBER Technologies will be able to accurately map electrical infrastructure, making it easier to identify areas requiring interventions and upgrades.
The 18-month contract covers the entire territory of Benin. This means that every commune, village, and neighborhood will be included in this initiative. The expected results of this project include not only improved operational efficiency for SBEE, but also increased reliability of electricity service for users.
The World Bank, as the main donor, highlights the importance of this project as part of its commitment to supporting energy infrastructure development in Africa. This partnership between LIBER Technologies Ltd and P2AE represents a significant step forward towards a more modern and accessible electricity grid, thus contributing to Benin’s economic and social development.
The geolocation of SBE’s electricity grid is a promising initiative that could transform Benin’s energy landscape. Thanks to this partnership, the country is moving towards better management of its energy resources, with expected benefits for all Beninese.
